Abstract
This paper intends to show the outline of the Japanese Earthobservation satellite program and its potential contribution to the International Atomic Energy Agency's safeguards activities. It introduces a summary of some Japanese studies on satellite imagery and safeguards, the history of the Japanese Earthobservation satellite program and the overview of the Advanced Land Observing Satellite. Data availability and restrictions are discussed, and some recommendations to the IAEA are described.
