Abstract
Every year, about 400 000 m3 of low activity radwastes coming from dismantling and sanitation projects are produced in France representing 20% of the global nuclear waste volume. These amounts will increase in the next 30 years in the context of the beginning of the decommissioning projects (nuclear power plants?). In France, radwaste repositories are owned and managed by ANDRA (French national agency for radwaste management). ANDRA first repository was designed for low level rad waste (LLW), a second one opened for very low level waste (VLLW).
