Abstract
Early in 1988, the United States Department of Energy - Idaho~rations Office (OOE-ID) awarded General Atanics (GA) a contract forthe Legal Weight Truck (Im') cask Developtent Project. This project ispart of a national program for transportation and pennanent disposal ofspent nuclear fuel and other nuclear wastes, as mandated by the Nuclearwaste Policy Act of 1982 and administered by the Office of CivilianRadioactive Waste Managem:mt (OCRWM).
