Impact Test Qualification of 500-Litre Drums for Long-Term Storage

This paper describes the results of impact-testing two types of 500-1 drums containing different forms of simulated solid intermediate-level waste. The tests were undertaken independent of each other. For clarification, the results, which provide useful benchmarks for designers of waste packagings containing grouted immobilised waste materials, are presented separately.
