Abstract
Non-destructive y-ray spectroscopic techniques for the determination of uranium enrichment or concentration are conducted in a mobile assay laboratory. The system consists of a sodium iodide gamma-ray spectrometer and 4096-channel computer analyzer housed in an air-conditioned van-type vehicle. Calibrations and measurements have been performed with U02 powder and sintered pellets (low enriched) and for various types of high enriched fuels at fabrication facilities. The system has been a useful tool for on-site inventory cerifications.
