Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material Conference II

This Panel Session will focus on efforts to promote the universalization and strengthened implementation of the CPPNM/A following the results of the Review Conference. The Panel seeks to engage speakers from CPPNM/A States Parties, GMS, and the IAEA to discuss key elements of CPPNM/A implementation, States Parties’ challenges, and international cooperation and assistance to strengthen States Parties capabilities to effectively implement the Convention. The panel will include discussions on State Parties experiences in leveraging cooperation and assistance from IAEA and GMS programs to implement the Convention, including submitting information to the IAEA as required by CPPNM/A Article 14.
