Abstract

Spent fuel transportation casks have arrived at final destinations with removable surface contamination levels in excess of regulatory limits (U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49 Part 173, and IAEA Safety Series No.6), although pretransport surveys indicated removable contamination level were well below these limits.
