Abstract
Recent years have seen considerable technical progress in the safeguards community. Of particular note is the development of reliable nondestructive assay (NBA) and containment/surveillance of these instruments into materials control and accountability systems, and increased support to the International Atomic Energy Agency that has resulted in a considerable body of experience with the verification of safeguards systems in the international arena.
