Abstract
This research between INMM student chapters at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (UTK) and Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) assesses and analyses the incoming work-forces’ knowledge of basic nuclear security concepts, and evaluates progress made in developing the nuclear security culture necessary to support the emergent nuclear sector in Jordan. The approach used to gather information was a survey developed collaboratively by JUST and UTK and deployed to students from both universities. The outcome of this research will seek to combine the expertise of both the student chapters to strengthen the nuclear security practices at JUST as they progress forward with their most recent and ongoing project, the Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR). The results of this study concluded that Jordan is progressing well in preparing the local incoming workforce on the importance of nuclear security. The obtained results verified that there is no significant gap between nuclear security approaches between students at UTK and JUST.
