Abstract
The past year has been a busy and interesting one for your Standards Committee. The coming year promises to be even more so for several reasons. Recent proposed amendments to the regulations, primarily in the area of safeguards, will necessitate a new look at some of the approaches we have been taking in certain of our Standards Committee activities. You will hear more on this later from Harley Toy, particularly as it may affect the work of his Committee on Nuclear Materials Management Specifications. Also, a new Standards Committee on Chemical Reprocessing of Irradiated Materials has been added to Harley's area of responsibility. Those of you interested or experienced in chemical reprocessing are urgently needed to work on this committee. New areas of Standards activities have been proposed to your Standards Committee. These will be disucssed later. I would now like to report on the past year's activities of each of your Standards Subcommittees.
