Abstract
In the course of organizing this workshop, one of the group leaders inquired, \"How do we have the temerity to tackle shipper^receiver differences (hereafter referred to as S/R differences) at a national meeting with 1% hours available when after 16 years experience we still have S/R differences?\" The inference is that he felt that no solution had been found in 16 years and that the purpose of the workshop was to find a solution. My own personal view is that it is not the intention of the workshop to find a solution if indeed there is a unique solution to the problem; rather I believe it is the purpose of the workshop to bring about an awareness of the problem, and an appreciation of the factors which contribute. S/R differences are fairly complex phenomena.
