Abstract
A general description of Agency safeguards from the point of an information system is presented. A discussion of the crucial areas that the IAEA safeguards information system will have to contend with in the early 1980's is presented from which are drawn a number of conclusions which have shaped system design. An overview of new system development is given followed by a discussion of the experience to date.
