Abstract
This paper discusses an automated, high precision, pellet/powder assay system. The system is an active assay system using a small isotopic neutron source and a coincidence detection system. The handling of the pellet or powder samples has been automated and a programmable calculator has been integrated into the system to provide control and data analysis. The versatile system can assay uranium or plutonium in either active or passive modes.
