Abstract
The Department of Energy Central Training Academy has developed a model program, Tactical Assessment Deployment and Decision Making, (TADD) to train protective force personnel in sound decision making and appropriate deployment of protective forces during a security related crisis. The paper encompasses training needs, prerequisite training to TADD, and development steps necessary for the creation of the computer based TADD scenario. TADD utilizes a hypothetical tactical situation in which the student combines knowledge of protective force capabilities with the proper tactical planning necessary to resolve the TADD computerized scenario. Implementation of the TADD program for the Department of Energy will enhance protective force management and supervisory skills to exercise critical incident resolution planning, realistically, without orchestrating costly, manpower intensive force on force exercises.
