Abstract
Nuclear safeguards has become increasingly important for the public acceptance of nuclear energy. Effective safeguards are as necessary in the uraniumthorium fuel cycle as they are in the uranium-plutonium fuel cycle. All materials measurement strategies will rely heavily on analytical chemistry both for primary accountability measurements and for calibration of NDA instruments.
