Abstract
Considerable progress has been made in the last year in the area of corrosion testing and modeling areas that support the design of waste packages and performance assessments for the potential repository at Yucca Mountain. The technical areas include: electrochemical potential testing, long-term corrosion testing, galvanic protection, atmospheric corrosion, crack growth rate testing, microbiologically-influenced corrosion, ceramic material mechanical properties, and interactions of the engineered barrier materials.
