Abstract
The Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM) is responsible for developing the Civilian Radioactive Waste Management System (CRWMS) to accept spent nuclear fuel from commercial facilities. In support of the development of the CRWMS, OCRWM sponsored the Facility Interface Capability Assessment (PICA) project. The objective of the PICA project was to assess the capability of each commercial spent nuclear fuel (SNF) storage facility to handle various SNF shipping casks. The purpose of this paper is to describe the PICA computer software and to provide potential PICA users with information on how to use the PICA system and to provide an overview on the kind of information provided by the PICA system.
