Abstract
A two-hour period has been scheduled for a panel discussion and a workshop on \"Standards in the Nuclear Field. \" The first hour will be devoted to the panel discussion; the second hour to INMM Standards Subcommittee reports and workshop. INMM members are familiar with the activities of its Standards Committee. These activities have resulted in publication of: 1. INMM Glossary of Terms used in nuclear materials management; 2. Proposed Standard Scrap Grades for Uranium; 3. Proposed Color Code for SS Material; and 4. Industrial Accountability Procedures which is in the draft stage. These latter two items will be treated in the workshop session. In pursuing these activities, the INMM Standards Committee has sought, through its membership and others, those areas in which it might make a maximum contribution or satisfy a need in the Standards field. Certainly, there are many such areas which have not been recognized or in which much work remains to be done. It is with this thought in mind that we have assembled this panel today, that is, to learn what standards activities in the nuclear field other organizations such as the American Standards Association and Atomic Industrial Forum are pursuing; what INMM is doing; identifying areas of mutual interest to these organizations; and explore those areas in which INMM can contribute or cooperate.
