Abstract
The USAEC has used single channel ganma spectrometers for use in international safeguards inspections for approximately three years. The spectrometers have been used for qualitative and quantitative measure- ments for nondestructive analysis for inventory verification. The results of the measurements show that the instruments have provided use- ful quantitative data for material in forms such as: fuel plates, fuel plate cores, powders and plate type fuel elements; and qualitative data for material in forms such as: scrap, IX^-ThOj mixture and UFg-HF solution.
