Abstract
The primary objective of a Tamper-Indicating Device (TID) program in the safeguards and security community is to provide a certain level of assurance that no tampering or entry has occurred during the period that the TID was applied or the interval between inspections. When a TID program is in place, it serves as an additional method when utilized correctly to alert authorities of unauthorized tampering with or opening of a container, package, door or any object to which a TID seal has been applied. This paper outlines the TID training program developed by the material Control and Accountability Group (MC&A) at Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC).
