Abstract
This paper presents Strategic Reserve Stage Right (SR2), which is being developed by Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), in conjunction with the Hason and Hanger Corporation at the Pantex Plant. SR2 is a state-of-the-art automated, material handling and tracking system. When installed, it will track material movements and inventory operations on pits stored in building 12-116 at the Pantex Plant. SR2 consists of an automated guited vehicle (AGV) used to move pallets, a graphical system controlle (GSC), a track right inventory control system, and toher associated hardware and software. The Track Right system \"knows\" the location of each put within a pallet and contains rules for how and where the pallets can be moved. The GSC first queries Track Right to found out where a pallet is and whre it can be stored, directs the AGV to move the pallet, and then informs Track Right of the new location. Track Right then transmits this information to the classified main-frame. The SR2 approach will signigicantly reduce radiation exposure to employees, maximize the security and safety of put storage, and increase the storage capacity in Building 12-116 while providing Pantex personnel an up-to-date, accurate, record of the aterial location down to the slot level.
