Abstract
The Nuclear Weapons Identification System (NWIS) developed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory has been implemented at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant for periodic confirmation of some weapons components in storage. This paper outlines the procedure for confirming weapons components in storage, and it describes the distribution of fifty confirmation measurements. A technique for evaluating the quality of confirmation measurements is proposed and applied to the fifty measurements.
