Abstract
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires that applications for the licensing of nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities include a statement regarding the applicants' plans for decommissioning these facilities at the termination of process operations. This standard provides guidance to designers by providing specific functional criteria for structures and systems and by establishing normal operating criteria to minimize problems during the decommissioning operations.
