Abstract
The transition from traditional Twin Minolta film cameras to video surveillance is one of the most challenging tasks in IAEA safeguards equipment development and implementation. Because of the complexity of the programme, an advanced interactive project and resource management software package has been used to achieve a well structured and responsive plan. The plan covers 208 project tasks, resources required, project schedule, and allocation of responsibilities. The paper describes some of the important features of the software package and their application to this programme. Special attention is given to the monitoring phase of the programme by describing the impact of actual task start/finish data on the total schedule.
