Abstract
Not quite a year ago, at Denver, Colorado, this group honored me by inviting me to speak about the new Office of Industrial Participation. My remarks on June 12, 1961, to this Institute were the first public remarks I made after my appointment as Director of the new office. At that time, I tried to presant some of the background leading to the establishment of the new office, including earlier steps taken by the Commission to encourage private participation in the nuclear energy business. I also indicated a few of the product and service areas where we planned to make special studies with recommendations to the Commission for policy and program action.
