Abstract
This paper will describe a number of recent development activities in the field of Non destructive Assay. This work has been carried out by EURATOM Safeguards Directorate as part of its overall objective in improving the scope and range of NDA measurements in its inspection activities. Particular attention is paid to that part of the work associated with the introduction of the newly developed multichannel analyser, the use of a new gamma ray spectrum analysis code, and the response of Non Destructive Assay measurement techniques to the new challenges facing EURATOM Safeguards Directorate in the field of MOX fuel and the storage of large quantities of nuclear material in the form of spent fuel. The measurement configurations and techniques are described together with some preliminary results.
