Abstract

For more than 15 years, the National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory has distributed the “Nuclear Wallet Cards for Radioactive Nuclides”. This is a small handbook which includes naturally occurring radionuclides and all other nuclides with half-lives greater than 1 hour. Half-lives, decay modes, and the energies of the strongest gamma-ray transitions were provided for each nucleus. We have revisited this handbook, updating the decay data with the most recent data from the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF). We have expanded the data provided in the handbook, to include also gamma ray intensities of the strongest transitions as well as properties of alpha radiation from isotopes which undergo alpha decay. In addition to a printed booklet, the data are being made available in the form of a mobile application which will allow for expanded search capabilities. The new NuRad booklets and corresponding mobile application will be presented This work was sponsored by the Office of Nuclear Physics, Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy under Contract No. DE-AC02-98CH10886.
