Abstract
The development of a nuclear power program will require incredible commitments to science and technology, especially for countries embarking on a new nuclear program. Nuclear power also as relied on trust and confidence, from nearly every stakeholder, but specifically with the government. Based on research, to include World Value Survey (WVS) data, Nigeria will be assessed to determine the levels of confidence the public has in the government as well as the perceived opportunities science and technology may provide the next generation. A quantitative analysis will be used to assess correlations between the variables. Building on these results, a further comparison of International Atomic Energy Agency Milestones recommendations will be conducted to determine if strategic engagements may further enable the preparation for successful nuclear power program planning.
