Abstract
The Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-438) specifically outlines the safeguards responsibilities of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This Act charges the Commission with the responsibility of regulating all licensed activities associated with the processing, transport, and handling of nuclear materials. This responsibility includes providing for and maintaining safeguards against threats, thefts, and sabotage of nuclear facilities and materials.
