Abstract
When the DOE focus of attention shifted toward the use of Tamper Indicating devices (TID) in the Material Control and Accountability environment, new sets of requirements and perceptions of the type of information needed to be maintained resulted in the rapid design and implementation of TID information systems. EG&G Mound Applied Technologies, Inc. is currently utilizing a personal computer based inventory system to maintain and track their TID inventory. The inventory system functions in parallel with the nuclear material accountability system where it provides Safeguards personnel with procurement, issuance, application, and removal data for each TID utilized in a safeguards application.
