Abstract
Today nuclear energy is faced with an \" A l i c e in Wonderland\" situation that gets \"curiouser and curiouser\". Gone are the \"Ban The Bomb\" days of the 1 9 5 0 ' s and 1 9 6 0 ' s . Gone are those inarches, sit-ins, civil disobedience, demonstrations and arrests, as well as the intense media attention and public debate about nuclear weapons and their threat to mankind. And what has taken their place? On are the marches of the 1970's, on are the sit-ins, the civil disobedience, the demonstrations and arrests, on is the public debate -- but this time i t ' s about nuclear power as a threat to mankind.
