Nuclear Cities Initiative: DOE Perspective

The Nuclear Cities Initiative is a cooperative nonproliferation program between the Russian Federation and the U.S. Department of Energy. The Department of Energy has signed an intergov- ernmental agreement on the Nuclear Cities Initiative. The purpose of the agreement is to help the Russian Ministry of Atomic Energy create jobs lost due to the downsizing of the Russian nuclear weapons complex. This presentation will be part of a four-part session that presents government, laboratory, Russian institute and NGO perspectives. This will be the government perspective.
