Abstract
Protection of plutonium and enriched uranium is enhanced by the use of SNM Door Monitors. The performance of these Door Monitors has been established to meet AEC requirements and their application to plant operation has been broadened to provide convenience and effectiveness. Application of Door Monitors has included integration with occupancy monitors, metal detectors, television cameras, remote guard stations, and total plant protection systems. Environmental protection systems, such as the NNC Liquid Monitors, have been developed and applied to commercial plant applications for measuring plutonium and uranium concentrations in process and waste streams.
