Abstract
In a powder-type bulk material handling facility there may be unmeasured plutonium powder caused by holdup in equipment or scattering in a glove box. In physical inventory taking(PIT), the plant operator carries out a clean-out within the glove boxes in order to recover these materials and thus reduce the unmeasured materials. The material balance method that takes into account the estimated in-process inventories, combined with Near Real Time Material Accountancy, has been developed in order to reduce the number of PITs.
