Abstract
During the past five years, our company has devoted considerable effort to the development, manufacture and test of non-destructive nuclear fuel assay equipment. This effort was directed towards compact, simple equip- ment that could be used by manufacturing personnel in quality control, fuel accountability and safeguards measurements. At last year's meeting of the INMM, we reported on \"Results of Typical Nondestructive Measurements of Fissionable Material in Various Forms Using NNC Machines\". That report reviewed work on a rangeof uranium and plutonium measurements in various forms from powder to complete fuel bundles. In this paper, we will concentrate on one specific measurement technique which was noted last year as a significant advance in our work. Specifically, the description and use of our newest production and portable rod assay machines provide the subject for this paper. Both of those machines are based on the use of our patented coincidence technique.
