Abstract
This paper describes the design and successful implementation of INMACS, a minicomputer-based system for nuclear material accountability and criticality control in a mixed-oxide fuel development laboratory at Chalk River. The on-line data base and the interactive nature of the system assist users to fulfil the particular inventory and criticality control requirements of the laboratory safely and efficiently. The experience gained from designing and operating INMACS should provide essential background information for applying computer system technology to nuclear material management.
