Abstract
This paper describes a computer system that has been developed for nuclear material accountability and has been operating in an active radiochemical processing plant involving remote operations. The system features: 1. Comprehensive, timely records of the identification, location, and quantity of nuclear materials; 2. Automatically updated book inventory files; 3. Material transfer and sample transaction coordination and cataloging; 4. Automatic inventory estimation; 5. Automatic, on-line volume determination, volume limit checking, and alarming; 6. Extensive information retrieval capabilities; and 7. Terminal access and application software monitoring and logging.
