Abstract
The formulation and verification of a materials balance pro forma for the Exxon Nuclear plutonium facility is discussed. MUF experience falls within predicted values and is less than the 0.5% of material processed criteria proposed by the AEC for LE-MUF. For LE-MUF, optimism on measurement quality was not wholly born out with Lli-MUF's higher than predicted. Nevertheless, the existent measurement quality indicates that a IJ;-MUF criterion ol 0.5% can be met with current technology. Sampling variances between pellets is found to be a significant contributor to |,li-MUF.
