Abstract
From time to time since the early 1960s, several United States facilities have been subject to IAEA inspections. This paper will present a discussion of IAEA Inspection activities at some of these facilities from the viewpoint of the facility that was 'inspected,' and will discuss the impact that these inspec- tion activities had at each facility. These Inspection activities span a. number of years; this paper will also address the evolu- tion of the inspection program through the period. The following facilities, having contracts administered by the Chicago Operations Office, are currently or were under an IAEA inspection program: Experimental Boiling Water Reactor (EBWR) (Argonne Laboratory), Piqua Reactor (Piqua, Ohio), Brook- haven Graphite Research Reactor (BGRR) (Brookhaven Laboratory), Brookhaven Medical Research Reactor (BMRR) (Brookhaven Laboratory), Critical Assembly Fuel (Argonne Laboratory). This last item is currently under IAEA inspection activity. Personnel associated with these inspection activities are co-authors of this paper.
