Abstract
The Division of Nuclear Materials Management has been interested for several years in gamma ray spectrometry as applied to uranium analysis. This interest stems primarily from the feasibility of nondestructive analysis, and considerable development effort has been directed toward portable or semi-portable equipment which can be used by AEG survey teams in the field. Although emphasis has been on nondestructive techniques, destructive techniques have not been neglected completely. It is in the best interests of the AEG to encourage the use of gamma ray spectrometry in uranium analysis, and to that end the Division has attempted to keep abreast of all developments in the field, and to encourage further developments.
