Abstract
Features of an entry-control system designed to automatically control access to nuclear facilities are described. Control independent of variable human factors is stressed, but security force action is required for assessment and response as a result of an alarm. A design based on a distributed pro- cessing capability is utilized. Flexibility and generality are emphasized in an effort to maximize applicability to the entry-control problem faced by nuclear facilities which are upgrading security.
