Abstract
A computerized communications and coordination center at the Barnwell Nuclear Fuel Plant provides for rapid cross-flow of i n f o r m a t i o n between Computerized Production, Safety, Nuclear M a t e r i a l s C o n t r o l , and P h y s i c a l S e c u r i t y information systems. Near \"real-time\" data is c o l l e c t e d from a wide v a r i e t y of sensors, instruments, and terminal inputs from each of the Plant's computerized systems and is displayed in a single location on color and black-and-wh i te CRT's in easily understandable graphic and text forms. A foundation for the system has been operated for three years and has expanded in capability each year. In current demonstrations al 1 available plant informat ion networks are tied into a communications network that enables the plant management to review data at a single physical location outside the main control room. The current status of development of the system is described.
