A COORDINATED APPROACH TO NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DESIGN

An approach to the design of a nuclear power plant that coordinates operations, safety, and security requirements is presented. A number of steps in the approach are identified. Construction features, equipment, and procedural elements that must be considered in a coordinated, standardized design are identified. An example of a design concept that meets some of these requirements is described.
