Abstract
In order to define the influence of the environment on ported coaxial cable sensors, mathematical models were developed to predict the operation of such sensors over wide ranges of naturally occurring and artificially constructed deployment conditions. By applying these results in an orderly fashion, it is possible to design a complete system which has minimum sensitivity to dynamic environmental conditions. Comparison of predicted results with actual field data shows excellent agreement and serves to validate the computer program in its present form.
