Abstract
Using a suite of cascade simulation codes, the stage flow rates and enrichment levels are calculated for uranium enrichment cascades utilizing the Iguaçu machine. The CascSCAN</i> code uses a modified version of the FixedCascBin</i> to scan over the possible arrangement of centrifuges in cascades designed to enrich uranium from natural to weapons grade uranium in three or four-step batch processes. Breakout studies are executed with CascSCAN</i> for the Iguaçu centrifuge using the performance maps based on the xPort</i> code and radial averaging technique, and breakout time estimates are compared between the performance maps and ranges of existing inventory of enriched hexafluoride added to the feed in different steps of the batch process.
