Abstract
In assessing measurement uncertainties, the problem of determining the operator error has received relatively l i t t l e attention due to the difficulties involved. For example, how can the \"true\" operator error (his ability to use a measuring device) be separated from mistakes in recording or reporting data? In this paper, the various problems are discussed and two solutions are suggested.
