Abstract
The objectives, activities and results of the ESARDA working groups are illustrated. Several working groups are oriented towards the exchange of experience and the study in common of techniques used in safeguards, namely destructive analyses, non-destructive analyses and isotopic correlation techniques. Two new working groups were recently established: one on containment and surveillance techniques and one for the study of safeguards problems in LEU reconversion and fuel fabrication plants. Their activities are discussed and the way to establishing and performing common projects with the participation of safeguards authorities, plant operators and research organisations is illustrated through a few samples.
