Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide estimates of the accuracy of utility-supplied information on burnup, and to summarize the factors which determine that accuracy. This work is part of a general appraisal of the accuracy of alternative sources of spent fuel characteristics data for the Federal Waste Management System (1). A general conclusion of that appraisal is that the use of util i ty-suppl ied burnup, enrichment, and discharge dates provides the most accurate spent nuclear fuel characteristics.
