Abstract
he £f fuei rocj assay system designed to measure the total fissile content of LWR fuel rods was described previously! along with some initial experimental data. Since that time, the system has assayed more than 20,000 BWR and PWR fuel rods at two fuel fabrication plants. In addition, an extensive error analysis of the system has been compiled, which in part uses data from in-plant experience, and includes such topics as the unique- ness of the measured response to the 235jj content, calibration, and precision of the system. This paper will summarize the basic design and operation of the system, the topics included in the error analysis, and the in-plant experience gained over the past year.
