Abstract
I am very pleased to have been invited to address this audience, and particularly so in this beautiful part of our country, where the sea, and the sand, and the sun, stimulate the tasks of technology. You will probably agree that my subject is a timely one, but you may also wonder, at the same time, what I could possibly say today, that has not been said a thousand times in the various forums, studies, reports, recommendations, statistics, press releases and advertisements? Therefore, I want to say right at the outset, that I will give you no charts or statistics, that I believe that we are indeed at the beginning of a serious energy crisis, and that I have nothing in store that could be called a \"solution\". I am also confident that nuclear fuels will assume an ever increasing proportion of our national energy budget.
